Krista T. is the creater of nellybeans.com, an embroidery design & supply business. In 2006 her mom joined her as a partner and the talented mother & daughter both love to sew & embroider. Krista created the embroidered diaper design in our book “Cloth Diapers Made Easy” and will be digitizing the some embroidery designs we will offer for free download here on the Babyville Boutique blog.
Krista is a work at home mom and has six children aged 1 ½ to 18. In addition to her embroidery business, she has a successful diaper sewing and pattern business and is very experienced in all aspects of cloth diaper sewing.
With the birth of her fourth child in 2003, Krista began her sewing and design journey. At first, she taught herself to sew clothing and outfits for her daughter then moved on to creating her own boutique children’s clothing and patterns. At this time, she acquired her first embroidery machine and started to embroider children’s clothing.
In 2007, before her 5th child was born, and Krista decided she was going to cloth diaper. She wanted to save money for her family, and figured that cloth diapers would not be hard to make. She got “hooked” on cloth diaper sewing from the first adorable diaper she made and has never looked back.

I’m the proud mom of a boy born in May 2009. I started cloth diapering when he was 4 months old, and started sewing diapers almost immediately after that. I have always loved sewing and it makes me happy to give my son something to wear that is both cute and better for the environment!
I sell cloth diapers through Facebook. I have a shop (with a friend) called "Lila & Will" here: http://www.facebook.com/lila.and.will
We also started a blog to document our sewing projects here: http://lilaandwill.posterous.com/

Hi everyone! I’m Valarie, a blessed mama to 3 little boys ranging in age from 8 months to 4 years old. Yes, it is a little busy around here but I still find some time to sew! In my much younger years I toyed with sewing using the machine I was given in high school. It wasn’t until the birth of our first and when I started sewing cloth diapers that my machine started getting a good workout. Now we create all sorts of things like children’s clothing, jackets, diaper bags, wipes, crib sheets and more.
My main priorities are to glorify God, be a supportive wife and raise our children in the Lord and manage our household. In taking care of our family I attempt to incorporate minimally processed food when possible. That means growing some of our own food, canning fresh local farmer’s market produce and buying local farm fresh eggs and chicken.
Now you might think with all this domestic stuff going on that I’ve always been this way. Mmm, no. My BA degree is in Agriculture. I spent a few years (in heaven on earth) breaking horses, calving cows, baling hay and repairing fences on a 15,000 acre ranch. After a few years of “horsing” around I took a job caring for and raising penguins and flamingos at a local zoo. Then there was that life changing experience in St. Petersburg Russia in 1992. What an eye opener on how privileged we are!
In fact I never expected to have children. But God has other plans for us when we give our lives over to Him. So, I am happy with where I have been but especially thrilled with were I am at. I’m looking forward to creating and sharing more with you in the future!
Warmly, Valarie
